Petition: Chief Justice not happy with delay in submission of govt report

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court Chief Justice on Wednesday took serious notice of the Punjab government’s failure to file a reply in connection with a petition questioning its failure to control dengue virus.

Chief Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry observed that people were dying on daily basis, but the government had not even bothered to furnish a report in the court.” He directed a law officer to ensure submission of a reply and a report by September 16.

On September 7, the CJ had sought detailed reports from the health secretary and the district coordination officer.

The petition was filed by Advocate Noshab A Khan who requested the court to order the health secretary to ensure free treatment to the affected.
