Justin Baldoni has alleged that Blake Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds pressured him to take the blame when negative publicity surrounding the film's production began to intensify in August 2024.

Baldoni revealed more about this interaction on a website he created on February 1. The site reportedly includes chats, emails, and other communications involving Baldoni, Lively, intimacy coordinators, and producers, which are said to challenge Lively’s claims of being sexually harassed during the filming of It Ends With Us.

According to Baldoni, Reynolds and Lively drafted a statement on behalf of Wayfarer Studios, warning that action would be taken if the statement wasn't released.

"IT ENDS WITH US was a troubled production which we take full accountability for. We are very sorry to everyone we caused upset to privately and publicly. Blake Lively, Colleen Hoover, the entire cast and crew led with professionalism every step of the way, any negativity aimed at them is ours to own," the draft allegedly stated.

The supposed draft further detailed why the film's cast was promoting the film separately.

"We mutually agreed that the cast would be promoting the film separately and understood why. We have always said we are not perfect and even if unintentionally make mistakes, we will always own them. We hold ourselves accountable... We are learning and growing from the experience," it read.

Baldoni's ongoing legal dispute with Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds is reportedly taking a financial toll on him, according to his attorney, Bryan Freedman.

On December 20, 2024, Lively filed a formal complaint with the California City Rights Department against Justin Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios, accusing Baldoni of sexual harassment and alleging he launched a social media campaign to damage her reputation.

As reported by the Economic Times, Baldoni’s legal team filed a $400 million lawsuit on January 16, 2025, against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and her publicist Leslie Sloan, claiming "civil extortion, defamation, and invasion of privacy."
