Nasser Javed Rana, the accountability court judge who sentenced PTI leader Imran Khan in the £190 million case, has been transferred, Express News reported.
The notification for the transfer was issued on the instructions of Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Amir Farooq. Judge Rana has been appointed as the District Session Judge for Islamabad West.
Following the approval from Chief Justice Farooq, the Registrar of the Islamabad High Court issued the official notification. Previously, Justice Azam Khan had served as the District and Session Judge before being appointed to the High Court.
After Justice Khan’s promotion, the additional session judge, Zeba Chaudhry, held the temporary position of session judge.
The move has sparked attention, as it comes shortly after the controversial sentencing of Imran Khan in the high-profile case.
