Tshego Gaelae, a 33-year-old model from South Africa, made history by becoming the first Black woman to win the prestigious Mrs World title at the 40th edition of the pageant, held in Las Vegas, USA.

The Mrs World competition, founded in 1984, is known as the inaugural beauty contest for married women. Gaelae triumphed over global contestants, with Sri Lanka's Ishadi Amanda earning first runner-up and Thailand's Ploy Panperm securing second place.

In an Instagram post, Gaelae expressed her gratitude, stating, "To God Be The Glory. Thank you so much for the love and support, I am beyond grateful and elated! My beautiful South Africa, the crown is coming Home."

Beyond her modeling career, Gaelae is an admitted attorney and works as a labor relations manager at a South African law firm. She is passionate about supporting women and children affected by domestic violence and is active with her NGO, We Are Our Children’s Keepers. The NGO provides school supplies to underprivileged children. Gaelae also shares educational content on her YouTube channel, My Lawyer’s Corner, and collaborates with various brands on her social media platforms.

Her victory is a monumental achievement for South Africa and marks a significant milestone in the history of the Mrs World pageant.
