Israeli forces have killed two more Palestinians in the Jenin governorate in the occupied West Bank, bringing the total number of people killed in the area since the start of a major assault nearly two weeks ago to 19.

The two victims, identified as Yazan Hatem al-Hassan and Amir Abu Hassan, were shot dead late Thursday during an Israeli army operation inside the Jenin refugee camp, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society also reported that three middle-aged Palestinian women were injured by shrapnel from an Israeli airstrike on a building in the refugee camp.

The relentless violence has claimed numerous Palestinian lives, with two youths killed in the same area on Tuesday, and another 10 Palestinians losing their lives in a drone strike in Ramallah on Wednesday.

The latest escalation follows Israel's “Iron Wall” offensive launched earlier this month in Jenin, which began just after the ceasefire in Gaza.

On Thursday evening, Israeli gunfire wounded two Palestinian children in the town of al-Khader, south of Bethlehem. In a separate raid in the town of al-Ubeidiya, east of Bethlehem, a 23-year-old Palestinian man was also injured by Israeli forces.

Israeli troops stormed the Bawaba area of al-Khader, where they fired tear gas and stun grenades, suffocating several civilians who inhaled the toxic gas.

The ongoing military aggression and destruction of Palestinian communities in the West Bank have prompted urgent calls for international intervention.

In response, Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa condemned Israel’s actions, describing the attacks as part of a "systematic effort to destroy the foundations of the Palestinian state." He stressed that the military incursions, accompanied by killings, detentions, and destruction of infrastructure, demand immediate international action to halt the violence.

The overall death toll from Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza since October 2023 has risen to 47,460, the Health Ministry said on Thursday.

A ministry statement said that nine more injured people were admitted to hospitals in the 24 hours, taking the number of the injured to 111,580 in the Israeli onslaught.

A ceasefire agreement took effect in Gaza on January 19, halting Israel’s genocidal war on the enclave.

The Israeli onslaught has left more than 11,000 people missing, with widespread destruction and a humanitarian crisis that has claimed the lives of many elderly people and children in one of the worst global humanitarian disasters ever.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants in November last year for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.

Since October 2023, Israeli forces have carried out a parallel deadly campaign across the occupied West Bank, that has left at least 880 Palestinians dead.

This coordinated assault, alongside Israel’s full-scale military operations in Gaza, continues to deepen the oppression of the Palestinian people and threatens their right to exist and resist occupation.

Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant, during a visit to the Jenin refugee camp, claimed that the assault was aimed at dismantling “terror infrastructure,” asserting that Israeli forces would remain in the camp even after the operation ends.

However, this move only intensifies Israel's illegal occupation and control over Palestinian lives.
