Jay-Z’s lawyers claim Tony Buzbee failed to meet client before filing sexual assault lawsuit

Jay-Z's legal team has launched a vigorous defense in response to sexual assault accusations from a Jane Doe, represented by attorney Tony Buzbee. 

In a new filing submitted on Wednesday, Jay-Z's lawyers leveled serious claims against Buzbee and his practice. The most notable accusation is that Buzbee failed to meet with the alleged victim before filing the lawsuit, a significant breach of ethical standards. According to the filing, Buzbee admitted that he had never met with Jane Doe in person prior to submitting the complaint, which is an unorthodox and troubling move in any legal case.

Jay-Z’s team, led by attorney Alex Spiro, highlighted "fatal inconsistencies" in Jane Doe's testimony and accused Buzbee of glossing over these issues before proceeding with the lawsuit. The rapper’s legal team further criticized Buzbee for failing to present any evidence to support the allegations made by the alleged victim.

Previously, Jay-Z had called for sanctions against Buzbee, accusing the lawyer of not properly investigating the case. The rapper also issued a scathing public statement, labeling Buzbee a "fraud" and an "ambulance chaser." In response, Buzbee defended his actions, claiming that he did meet with Jane Doe four days before the lawsuit was filed, describing Jay-Z’s efforts as "weak and desperate."
