As cricket fever grips the nation, Rastah taps into the excitement with a new collection that blends sporty nostalgia with streetwear finesse. The brand's latest campaign stars none other than cricket legend Wasim Akram and his son Akbar Akram, featuring a green-infused collection of sweatshirts, hoodies, bomber jackets, and T-shirts.
"It's cricket season! Wasim Akram was and is still the epitome of a sporting icon," declared the fashion brand's Instagram page in a grid post. "Growing up, we dreamt to be like him, and it's a dream come true to do a campaign with him - what makes it even better is the beauty of this campaign that captures the bond he shares with his son Akbar."
The father-son duo can be seen decked in deep green ensembles with accents of yellow and white. With "Pakistan" emblazoned across the chest, the pieces mirror the essence of a cricketer's kit, while bomber jackets introduce a fresh twist with white geometric patterns lining their design.
Black and grey casualwear also entered the mix, as the shoot captured Wasim and Akbar in separate shots. Imposing yet charming, the pair also posed together, smiling fondly at each other in between captures.
On Tuesday, Wasim teased the photoshoot by lauding his son's modelling debut in an Instagram post. "My son, I'm very proud of you, the man you have grown into, and where you are headed!" the cricket veteran wrote.
Rastah has been no stranger to supplying stylish streetwear to stars, be it within Pakistan or across the globe, since its birth in 2018. From Bollywood household names to Hollywood A-listers, the brand's fan list continues to grow.
Recently in December, Yo Yo Honey Singh sported their striking emerald green leather suit. The jacket, a standout piece, was crafted from green hair-on leather and features a cropped, structured silhouette that exuded urban sophistication.
Its hand-embellished collar, adorned with metallic studs, offered a textured contrast to the simple design, while a handmade polymer clay zip added an unexpected artistic and abstract touch. Fully lined for versatility, the jacket was designed for both comfort and impact, making it a statement piece for any fashion-forward wardrobe.
Paired with the jacket were wide-legged trousers that further elevated the status of the ensemble to a rich man's co-ord. With a smooth, light-reflecting texture, the trousers boasted an iridescent sheen, adding a sense of movement and fluidity to the look. The relaxed fit ensured ease of wear without compromising on style, while a simple button closure kept the design clean. Completing the look, Honey Singh accessorised the ensemble with black leather gloves and his signature rectangular-framed glasses.
Earlier, Timothée Chalamet strode the streets of Los Angeles in a brown sweatshirt, paired up with matching pants and shoes, and a simple gold chain around his neck.
Even Bollywood veteran Anil Kapoor showed up at the premiere for his film Animal in Mumbai, clad in the 'Hand-woven Dot Jacket' from Rastah. According to the fashion brand's website, the jacket symbolises the "concepts of surveillance and personal autonomy in the digital age."
In a similar fashion, Ms Marvel star Iman Vellani sported their 'Pink Eyes Can't See' patch T-shirt in the season finale. The artwork designer, Inzer, expressed her excitement at being a part of Kamala Khan's story through the shirt, emphasising the significance of desi representation in both fashion and entertainment.
