SUKKUR:
Eighteen kestrels, a type of falcon, were seized during a raid on a Karachi-bound passenger coach by the wildlife department, on the National Highway, near the Babarloi check post. The team arrested passenger Mohammad Shahid. Sukkur’s deputy conservator, Taj Mohammad Shaikh, told The Express Tribune that nobody is allowed to catch kestrel because they are a protected species. Shahid used to catch the birds from Dera Ismail Khan and sell them in Karachi. He will be produced in court on Thursday morning and the birds will be released in the forest.
