Gwyneth Paltrow has sold her Los Angeles home for $22 million, $8 million less than the original asking price.

The Brentwood property, which was not affected by recent California wildfires, was initially listed at $30 million in June 2024 before being reduced to $24.9 million, and ultimately sold to an anonymous buyer for nearly $3 million less.

Paltrow and her ex-husband, Chris Martin, purchased the 8,000-square-foot home in 2012 for $9.95 million.

The estate, which was renovated in 2009, includes six bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a large kitchen, a guesthouse with a wine cellar, a gym, office, game room, and private movie theater.
The sale of the property comes as Paltrow adjusts to an "empty-nester" lifestyle. Her two children, Apple, 20, and Moses, 18, have recently moved out as they attend college—Apple at Vanderbilt University and Moses at Brown University.
Paltrow has expressed her grief about this transition, noting the emotional impact it has had on her. She shared in interviews that while it is a natural part of life, she experiences waves of sadness, as her children’s independence signals a new phase in her life.
Paltrow, who is married to Brad Falchuk, has also completed the construction of a new home in Montecito, where she resides with her husband.
Despite the sadness of her children growing up, she and Martin, who separated in 2014, continue to co-parent amicably. Martin, too, has spoken about the bittersweet nature of seeing his children become more independent.
