A woman allegedly collaborated with her 15-year-old son to murder her husband using a sharp weapon on Sunday.
Police arrested both suspects.
Gaggo Mandi police received a report on Friday morning regarding the murder of a butcher named Tahir in the 88 WB area.
The victim was reportedly slaughtered with a sharp weapon by unknown individuals.
Upon receiving the information, SHO Farooq Ramzan of Gaggo Mandi Police Station reached the scene. The victim's body was found tied to a pole in the veranda near the livestock area, lying on a charpoy.
Family members at the scene claimed that Tahir had been restrained and brutally murdered.
The police, along with forensic teams, conducted an initial investigation, collected evidence, and shifted the body to hospital for a post-mortem examination.
SHO Farooq Ramzan and his team launched an investigation, and within hours, they apprehended the victim's wife, Sajida Bibi, and 15-year-old son.
During interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crime, the area police officials said.
The accused wife alleged that her husband, Tahir, was involved in immoral acts with her and their daughters and had issued threats when confronted. She stated that these actions drove her to take this extreme step.
The murder weapon was recovered from the suspects' possession. Meanwhile, following the post-mortem, the victim's funeral was held in his ancestral village, Chak 90 WB, and he was laid to rest.
The deceased, Tahir, was the father of two sons and five daughters. Police continue to investigate the case further.
