Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and Member of National Assembly Muhammad Atif Khan has said that the matter of replacing the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister was not discussed during the meeting with Imran Khan.
"When Imran Khan asked for my opinion on the appointment of PTI's provincial president, I proposed the name of Junaid Akbar. He is an old and strong worker of the party," said Atif on Sunday.
Talking to the media, he said that any change in the party in K-P was now the choice of the provincial president.
"He can assign responsibilities to whomever and wherever he wants," he added.
Atif said that, during the meeting, Imran Khan had given him the responsibility of probing the provincial ministers facing allegations of corruption and that such claims would be verified.
"If the allegations are proved, the corrupt ministers will be dismissed and replaced," he said.
It may be recalled that, a day ago, the PTI had announced a key leadership change in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, with Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur stepping down as provincial party president.
