KARACHI:

Students have expressed concerns about the prolonged suspension of classes due to protest of faculty members.

Many fear that continued disruptions will jeopardize their academic progress and future opportunities.

The ongoing standoff between the Sindh government and the Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association (FAPUASA) over the appointment of bureaucrats as vice chancellors remains unresolved, leaving university classes suspended for over a week.

This stalemate threatens the academic future of millions of students enrolled in public universities across Sindh, including the University of Karachi.

Teachers have vowed to continue their boycott until their demands are addressed. They are protesting against the appointment of bureaucrats to key university positions and the recruitment of contract teachers in public universities. Protests have intensified, with demonstrations staged outside university campuses and roads blocked by rallying teachers.
