Google Earth has begun updating its satellite images of Gaza, offering a stark look at the ongoing devastation Israel had caused in the region.
The latest images focus on northern Gaza, particularly the villages of Beit Lahia, Beit Hanoun, and the Jabalia Refugee Camp.
The before images, taken in early August 2023, show the area before the Israeli attacks on Gaza, while the after images, captured in late November 2023, depict the heavy damage caused by 45 days of relentless bombardment.

The Israeli war on Gaza has left Gaza's population in a dire situation. Nearly 70% of Gaza's 2.3 million residents have been displaced, with the numbers reaching up to 90% in the northern parts of the region, where the heaviest fighting has occurred.
These updated images from Google Earth provide a powerful visual representation of the damage Israel had caused, underscoring the devastating toll that just 45 days of military operations have taken on Gaza.

The full scope of the destruction is difficult to comprehend, the situation is expected to worsen further, with millions facing homelessness and extreme hardship.
Even if ceasefire has occured now, approximately 3% of Gaza's population has already lost their lives due to Israeli's war on Gaza. Analysis shows that 59% of the casualties have been women, children, and the elderly.
Furthermore, a study suggests that, considering underreporting, the total number of deaths from traumatic injuries in Gaza by October 2024 is likely to have exceeded 70,000, a significant rise from the 42,000 reported by the ministry at that time.
