PAKISTAN:

Senator Faisal Vawda stated on Thursday that he had already predicted the breakdown of talks between the government and the PTI, describing the negotiations as a "joke".

In a statement posted on X, the former federal minister alleged that the primary objective of both the PTI and the government was to keep former premier Imran Khan behind bars, noting that the goal had now been achieved.

Vawda said he had already predicted that the "Trump card" would be rendered ineffective and accused the PTI of engaging in political theatrics. He added that none of PTI's prominent leaders currently enjoying power endured hardships, such as imprisonment.

"There will be no sit-ins, no sacrifices, and no protests," he said, adding that in the end, PTI will resort to writing letters abroad to tarnish the country's image and 'fulfill the formality'.

Separately, speaking to a private TV channel, Vawda expressed disappointment with the current state of PTI's leadership. He noted that sincere members of the party, who genuinely supported Imran, were neither part of the negotiation team nor on the frontlines.
