Matric textbooks hit markets with revised curriculum

Students will now have the freedom to choose their preferred area of study.

The supply of new textbooks for Matric (9th and 10th) grades for the upcoming academic year 2025-26 has started in the open market.

After 10 days, all these new textbooks will be available at Urdu bazaars and stationery bookstores. The Punjab Textbook Board (PTBB) has initiated distributing the new books from Lahore to all 42 districts of Punjab.

All textbooks for Matric have been changed for the new academic year starting on April 1, and students can choose between Urdu and English for their education.

The decision gives students at every school a free hand in choosing their medium of education according to their preference, either in Urdu or English.

For the new classes, two new groups have been added to the Matric curriculum, bringing the total to four teaching groups: Matric Health Sciences, Matric Agriculture Sciences, Matric Fashion Designing, and Matric Computer Science.

Additionally, students will now be free to choose their preferred area of study. The number of admissions will also be increased this year.
