Blake Lively has responded strongly to Justin Baldoni’s release of behind-the-scenes footage from It Ends With Us, calling it an “unethical attempt” to counter her sexual harassment claims.
The legal teams representing Lively criticized Baldoni, alleging the video corroborates her accusations and claiming it was heavily edited to mislead the public.
The footage, released earlier today, depicts interactions between Baldoni and Lively during a scene from the adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s 2016 novel. While Baldoni’s legal team argues the video disproves Lively’s harassment allegations, her attorneys from Manatt, Phelps & Phillips and Willkie Farr & Gallagher assert the footage validates her claims.
According to Lively’s attorneys, the video shows Baldoni engaging in improvised, unwanted physical contact, including kissing her forehead, touching her lip, and commenting on her scent—all without prior discussion or consent. They further allege that no intimacy coordinator was present, and Lively’s discomfort is evident in her attempts to deflect his advances.
The ongoing legal battle includes multiple lawsuits. Baldoni filed a $400 million defamation suit against Lively and others on January 16, alongside a $250 million action against The New York Times. Lively, in turn, filed a sexual harassment and retaliation lawsuit against Baldoni and his Wayfarer Studios.
Lively’s attorneys condemned Baldoni’s decision to release the footage publicly rather than presenting it as evidence in court, describing it as part of a broader “harassment and retaliatory campaign.”
Baldoni’s team has not yet responded to the latest developments.
