YouTube star and boxing sensation KSI’s anticipated match against retired footballer Wayne Bridge has been canceled just two days after its announcement.

The fight, scheduled for March 2025, would have marked KSI’s return to the ring after 532 days, following his defeat against Tommy Fury in October 2023.

Bridge, 44, announced his withdrawal via Instagram stories, citing personal reasons tied to KSI’s comments during their trash-talking segment at Misfits 20. While initially excited about the challenge, Bridge stated, “What was said on Saturday crossed a line. These are deeply personal comments that affect mine and other families involved in the situation.”

The controversy arose when KSI referenced a 2010 scandal involving Bridge’s ex-girlfriend, Vanessa Perroncel, and fellow footballer John Terry, who was accused of infidelity. KSI taunted Bridge, saying, “Aren’t you the guy who let John Terry smash your ex? That is what you are known for.”

Bridge, a father and family man, emphasized his decision was to protect his family from further distress. “My opponent is someone who many children look up to, including my kids. I hope one day he will look back at this differently,” Bridge shared.

KSI has yet to issue a public statement regarding Bridge’s withdrawal. Fans are now eager to see who will replace Bridge as KSI’s next opponent.

This is the second major cancellation KSI has faced recently, following the August 2024 cancellation of his proposed tag-team bout with Slim Albaher and Anthony Taylor due to injury.
