KARACHI:

The Engineering and Minerals Division of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) on Thursday organised an online meeting with private and public-sector stakeholders of the mines and mineral sector, aimed at inviting investment and promoting an upcoming exhibition.

The meeting focused on the Health, Engineering and Mineral Show (HEMS) to be held from April 17-19 in Lahore and explored ways of attracting investment in the mines and mineral sector of Pakistan through trade promotion at the exhibition.

TDAP Director-General Azhar Ali Dahar, who chaired the meeting, invited all participants to take part in the HEMS 2025. He also discussed the organisation of an exclusive exhibition of Balochistan's mineral sector and asked meeting participants for their feedback on the venue and dates for the event. TDAP Assistant Director Omer Bajwa gave a presentation to highlight the different contours of HEMS 2025 and the potential for investment in minerals. He requested the participants to share details of potential buyers and investors for their products.

He also asked them to come up with investment proposals for onward submission to the Pakistani trade missions abroad.

Sharing his views, an official of the Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industry apprised the meeting of the potential and challenges of the mineral sector in Balochistan.

An official of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Board of Investment and Trade proposed the organisation of investment conferences during the show. Endorsing the idea, TDAP DG said that activities would be arranged in collaboration with the Geological Survey of Pakistan.
