27 terrorists killed in Kacchi IBO

Security forces killed 27 terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Kacchi district of Balochistan and destroyed a huge caches of arms, ammunition and explosives, the Inter-services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Monday.

The ISPR, the media wing of the military, said that the IBO was conducted on Sunday on the reported presence of terrorists in the area. "Own troops stealthily surrounded & effectively engaged the terrorists' location, and after an intense fire exchange, twenty-seven terrorists were sent to hell."

According to the ISPR, multiple hideouts, including caches of arms, ammunition and explosives, were destroyed. "The killed terrorists were involved in numerous terrorist activities against the security forces as well as innocent civilians and were highly-wanted by the law enforcement agencies," it added.

"Security forces of Pakistan, in step with the nation, remain determined to thwart attempts at sabotaging peace, stability and progress of Balochistan."

President Asif Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appreciated the security forces for eliminating terrorists during the Kacchi operation. They lauded the bravery of troops for defeating the nefarious designs of the terrorists in Balochistan.

Zardari said in a statement that the brave armed forces of Pakistan were carrying out operations for complete eradication of terrorism. "The elimination of terrorists during operations is a great success of security forces," he said.

The president said the nation acknowledged the role of security forces in wiping out terrorists. "The nation is determined to completely erase terrorism from the country," he added, according to a statement issued by the Presidents' Office.

In a separate statement, Prime Minister Shehbaz appreciated the officers and personnel of the security forces for the successful operation against terrorists. He praised the professional capabilities of officers and personnel of security forces for killing 27 terrorists during operations.

He said the war against terrorism would continue till complete elimination of this menace from the country. "The whole nation stood with its brave armed forces in the war against terrorism," he said. "I and the whole nation pay tribute to the security forces for their fight against terrorism without caring for their lives."
