As deadly wildfires continue to ravage parts of California, several multimillion-dollar homes—including those of high-profile celebrities—have been completely destroyed. The fires, which began on January 7 in Pacific Palisades, quickly spread, devastating neighborhoods across Malibu, Santa Monica, and other areas, forcing thousands of residents to evacuate.
Among the celebrities affected, Adam Brody and Leighton Meester’s $6.5 million Pacific Palisades home was reduced to rubble. Purchased in 2019, the property was once valued at close to $8.5 million. Paris Hilton and her husband, Carter Reum, also lost their Malibu mansion, which they had bought for $8.4 million in 2021. Hilton shared her heartbreak on social media, watching the house she had shared with her family burn to the ground.
Other well-known figures, including Billy Crystal, Cameron Mathison, and John Goodman, also saw their homes destroyed by the flames. Crystal’s $9 million home, built in 1936 in Pacific Palisades, was among the casualties, along with his longtime neighbors. Mathison’s $3.5 million home in Altadena was reduced to ashes according to Realtor.com
Realtor.com reported the fires have caused massive destruction, with damages estimated at over $52 billion, and more than 2,000 structures have been lost. With two major blazes still out of control and at zero containment, the full extent of the damage is still unfolding.
While many celebrities have expressed grief and pledged to support victims, others have voiced concerns about the future of their properties and the communities that once thrived in these affluent areas. The ongoing fires serve as a stark reminder of California's unpredictable fire season and the devastating toll it can take on both residents and the wealthy elite.
