Over 12,000 animals, birds saved in 2024

Over the past year, a total of 12,643 wild birds and animals have been rescued from various districts in Punjab.

The Punjab Wildlife officials said the Lahore region, led by Deputy Director Wildlife Ghulam Rasool, has successfully rescued 1,485 wild animals and birds.

In the Gujranwala region, under Deputy Director Wildlife Asim Bashir Cheema, 1,502 animals were rescued. The Sargodha region, headed by Deputy Director Wildlife Arooj Zaheer, saw the recovery of 432 animals, while the Rawalpindi region, led by Deputy Director Ehsan Ahmed Raja, accounted for a significant 5,807 rescues.
