The Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted that new rain system is expected to enter Pakistan on January 14.
The arrival of this system will result in rainfall across various regions and is anticipated to reduce the intensity of fog in affected areas.
According to the department, dry weather continues across Punjab, including Lahore, while dense fog has taken over the plains of the province today. Due to extremely low visibility, traffic may face difficulties.
In some areas of the province, visibility has been recorded as low as 50 meters due to the thick fog.
The minimum temperature recorded in Lahore today was 5°C, with a maximum expected temperature of 17°C.
On the other hand, the ongoing cold wave in Karachi and throughout Sindh was expected to persist, with the Pakistan Meteorological Department predicting continued cold and dry conditions for the next two days.
In Karachi, temperatures dipped as low as 8°C to 9°C during this period, with a maximum temperature range of 25°C to 27°C.
The city recorded a minimum temperature of 8.5°C, accompanied by stronger-than-usual winds.
The weather office also predicted light rain or drizzle in parts of Sindh, including Sanghar, Tharparkar, and Umerkot districts, by the evening or night of the following day.
