Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken notice of the reinstatement of 12 officers in the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) who were previously dismissed over corruption allegations.
In response to the notice, a high-level committee has been formed. The committee includes former power secretary Shahid Khan, the current energy secretary, as well as one representative each from the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and the Lesco Board.
The Lesco management faces allegations of reinstating the 12 officers in exchange for monetary gains and purchasing supplies from an international company.
