Local Govt System: Former NRB chief demands restoration

Daniyal Aziz launched a movement for the restoration of the LG system.

ISLAMABAD: Former chairman of the National Reconstruction Bureau (NRB) Daniyal Aziz has announced the launch of a nationwide movement against price-hike, unemployment and restoration of the local government (LG) system.

Aziz, who spearheaded the NRB which had formulated the LG system during Pervez Musharraf’s era, launched a movement for the restoration of the LG  system and holding of new local bodies’ elections.

“If the government does not take measures to control price-hike and unemployment, the Jeevay Pakistan Jeevay Maqami-Hakoomat (JPJM) will come out on to the streets to oust the ruling elite,” Aziz said.
