Just a few days into the new year, Grammy-winning rapper Lil Baby dropped his highly anticipated fourth studio album, WHAM (Who Hard as Me). The Atlanta artist announced the release during his sold-out birthday concert in early December, more than two years after unveiling his third album, It’s Only Me. Leading up to the release, Lil Baby teased fans with promotional singles like “5 AM” and “Insecurities,” both co-produced by Wheezy.
On December 20, 2024, Lil Baby took to Instagram to reveal the official cover art and 15-song tracklist for WHAM. The post showcased a lineup of featured artists, including Young Thug, GloRilla, Rylo, 21 Savage, and Future. Lil Baby had hinted at Future's involvement in November, sharing on X, "I think I got @21savage's hardest verse ever."
One notable absence from WHAM was Gunna, Lil Baby’s former collaborator. Many believe the two had a falling out in 2023, after Gunna accepted a plea deal in the YSL RICO case involving Young Thug. Fans speculated that Lil Baby referenced Gunna in his 2023 track “350,” where he raps, “Ain’t never say nothin’ ‘bout it, n***a, you know you a rat.”
Lil Baby addressed his relationship with Gunna during a recent interview with Charlamagne the God, confirming that the two are no longer on good terms.
“The internet says you can’t make hits without Gunna,” Charlamagne said. “Do you think y’all will make music again?”
“The internet will say anything,” Lil Baby replied. “You know how many hits I got? That don’t even make sense.”
WHAM is now available for streaming on Apple Music and Spotify.
But Lil Baby has more in store for 2025. During an appearance on Lil Yachty’s A Safe Place podcast in December, he confirmed plans to release another album, titled *Dominique*, later in the year.
“At first, I was telling people I was going to drop a double album. Now, I’m dropping the WHAM album and Dominique album,” he shared. “I still put some of the songs I was gonna use for Dominique on WHAM ’cause I know my fanbase really want to hear them certain songs. WHAM is more me on some young n-gga shit — fast cars, girls, jewelry, money. You know, the turnt lifestyle. And Dominique is more the serious me, more personal. That’s a part of the new journey I’m on. I hate the word vulnerable, but I’m gonna be more open to my fans and my audience.”
