Pindi to 'fast-track' major uplift projects

The Commissioner of Rawalpindi has issued directives to ensure the completion of ongoing projects, including the Daducha Dam and Rawalpindi Ring Road project, according to their timelines. The completion of the Ring Road project is to be ensured in the New Year.

Rawalpindi Commissioner Engineer Amir Khattak, along with Director General of RDA, Kanza Murtaza, and other officials, visited the Daducha Dam site and the Rawalpindi Ring Road site at Banth Mor. They conducted a detailed review of the ongoing work's pace and quality on these mega projects.

The Commissioner instructed that these projects be completed within the stipulated timeframe, and if necessary, additional teams should be mobilised. During the briefing on the Ring Road project, it was informed that the Ring Road is a 38.3-kilometer project, with 40% of the work already completed. The completion deadline for the project is set for December 2025. If funds are provided on time and work continues at the current pace, the project could be completed ahead of schedule.
