Passenger carrying 1kg heroin to Saudi Arabia arrested at Karachi airport

The arrested passenger was handed over to the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) for further investigation

The Airport Security Force (ASF) thwarted an attempt to smuggle over 1 kilogram of heroin from Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, Express News reported on Thursday.

According to an ASF spokesperson, their personnel intercepted a passenger travelling to Jeddah on suspicion of carrying contraband.

The passenger, identified as Amjad Ali, had concealed the heroin in soap packaging inside his luggage. Upon inspection, ASF officials recovered 1.060 kilograms of heroin.

“The professional expertise of the ASF staff led to the discovery and seizure of the illicit substance,” the spokesperson said.

The arrested passenger was handed over to the Anti-Narcotics Force for further investigation and legal action along with the seized heroin.
