The burnt body of a drug addict was found abandoned in Nalawala area. The police took the body into custody and began further investigation.
Police said body of 42-year-old Tahir Shafiq was found in the Nalawala area of Chak Jhumra police station, who was temporarily residing inside a shop. The police took the body into custody and shifted it to the hospital.
SHO Chak Jhumra police station Mian Arsalan Bari said that Tahir was addicted to drugs and he burned wood due to cold, due to which he caught fire and died. His brother-in-law Hanif Bashir has given a written assurance of not taking any legal action.
Meanwhile, unknown persons killed a rickshaw driver by stabbing him on the neck with a sharp instrument.
