CM pledges to facilitate Turkish investors

Diplomat reiterates willingness to expand cooperation with Punjab.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has said that the provincial government will provide all possible facilities to Turkish investors.

"People of Turkiye have always supported Pakistan in difficult times, we are grateful," she said during a meeting with Turkish Consul General Durmesh Bastag to discuss measures to promote cooperation in the fields of trade, education, health, agriculture and tourism. She called Turkiye a great friend and brother of Pakistan, and agreed to strengthen bilateral relations between the nations.

The chief minister said, "The Punjab government will provide all possible facilities to Turkish investors. One-window operation for the Turkish business community will be made more active."

The Turkish consul general appreciated the public welfare projects of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and said,"Turkiye attaches great importance to relations with Pakistan."

He added, "We are ready to further expand cooperation with Punjab in various fields."

Security arrangements

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz also issued directives for strict security arrangements to ensure safety of the general public during New Year celebrations. She called for foolproof security at parks, shopping malls and other public places.

She said, "The police and administration should prevent all kinds of illegal activities with the cooperation of the general public." She added, "The public should celebrate the New Year as responsible citizens, avoiding aerial firing and other untoward activities. Strict crackdown will be launched against elements violating the law as well as endangering lives."

She said the New Year should be started in a safe and peaceful environment so that Punjab's journey to development and prosperity is strengthened.
