A speeding van collided with a rickshaw near Gajju, Thatta, resulting in the deaths of two people, including a one-year-old child, Farhan. Ten others were injured, among whom three are in critical condition.
According to eyewitnesses, the rickshaw was travelling from the shrine of Shah Yaqeeq to Karachi when it collided with the van near the Gajju and Makli areas on the National Highway. The rickshaw overturned, and the van also flipped over, resulting in the tragic loss of lives.
The deceased have been identified as Ramazan Chachar. The injured, including Omar, Amer, Sikandar, Hussaina, Shabana, Samina, and others, were rushed to the Civil Hospital Makli.
The hospital has declared an emergency. Three of the injured, including an innocent child, Shabana, are in critical condition and have been transferred to Karachi for further treatment.
The bodies of the deceased have been handed over to their families after completing necessary formalities.
