KARACHI:

Mayor Murtaza Wahab has urged the protesters not to block roads and shift their venue to the empty ground adjacent to Mazar-e-Quaid. He also said that government authorities are holding negotiations with religious parties regarding the protests and closure of roads.

"I am in favour of peaceful protests, but it is not right to cause trouble to people," he said.

Mayor was talking to the media on Saturday at the inauguration of the Urban Forest in Aziz Bhatti Park. Deputy Mayor Salman Abdullah Murad, Director General Parks and others were also present.

The 38-acre Aziz Bhatti Park has been under the management of KMC since 1992.
