The federal government stopped the ministries and divisions from using funds allocated to the employees ad hoc relief allowance for any other purpose, according to a memorandum issued by the finance ministry on Monday.
The office memorandum laid down the strategy for reallocation of the funds and additional funds for the financial year. It stated that a previous office memorandum issued by the Budget Wing of the Finance Division on September 24, 2024 could not be used for any other purpose.
These allocated funds will be used for the provision of ad hoc relief allowance to federal government employees, adding that the funds had been earmarked to cover the payment for the allowance.
