When Justin Baldoni married his Swedish wife, Emily, his wedding vows began with a heartfelt apology for "anything I've ever said or done that has hurt you."
At their 2013 Midsummer Night’s Dream-themed wedding near Los Angeles, the film director, 40, expressed regret for his "faults, shortcomings, insecurities, and my ego."
Through tears, Baldoni vowed to "cherish, listen to you, honour you and respect you."
In response, Emily, now the mother of their two children, promised to always love him and "stand firm by your side" for the rest of their lives.
Today, her unwavering love and support for her husband is more crucial than ever, as he faces a high-profile lawsuit brought by Blake Lively, which has attracted global attention.
Lively has accused Baldoni of fostering a toxic workplace environment during the filming of *It Ends With Us*, including serious sexual misconduct allegations, which he strongly denies.
Remarkably, Emily may have direct knowledge of the situation, as she appeared in the film in an emotional scene alongside Lively. Their two children were also on set, featuring in its final scenes.
When the Baldonis married 11 years ago, Emily told Justin and the guests that she would "stand tall by your side. Feeling blessed to have a man who speaks for those who cannot or do not have the strength to. And a man who will go without sleep to make sure someone’s story is told."
The couple high-fived after being legally married, and Emily told him through tears, "Where there is love, nothing is too much trouble."
In a pivotal scene of the movie, Lively’s character Lily, who is pregnant, undergoes a scan and finds the strength to leave an abusive relationship with Baldoni’s character, Ryle.
The role of the medic performing the scan was played by Emily Baldoni.
Their children, Maiya Grace and Maxwell, also participated in the movie, appearing in the final scene, where they run through a farmer’s market.
Emily’s unwavering support for her husband was evident early on when she agreed to let him turn footage of his proposal into a rom-com-style YouTube video, which boosted his career and has since garnered 14 million views and 163,000 likes.
