A woman in Bahawalpur, who married a man she met on PUBG, has been accused of kidnapping her sister-in-law and fleeing with stolen jewelry and cash.

Maya Ali, who married Kashan Mahmood after meeting him online via PUBG, allegedly abducted Maham Ali, her husband's younger sister, from their home in Bahawalpur.

According to reports, Maya, who had been married to Kashan for just three months, took advantage of her relationship with Maham and fled with jewelry worth eight tolas and one lakh rupees.

The police registered a case against Maya Ali and her family, who are accused of conspiring together in the kidnapping.

The incident occurred on November 2, when Maya lured Maham under the pretext of going for a walk, before forcing her into a car, as seen in CCTV footage.

The case has sparked attention as the investigation faces hurdles due to jurisdictional issues, as the accused are located in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, beyond the reach of Bahawalpur police without additional legal permissions.

The DPO of Bahawalpur has requested assistance from Punjab's top police authorities in arresting the suspects.
