The commissioner's office on Wednesday denied media reports claiming a Rs4 increase in flour prices, reiterating that the prices of flour have actually been reduced.
According to an official statement, the commissioner's office stated that the price of 2.5 Number Flour has been slashed by Re1 across all levels - ex-mill, wholesale, and retail. Similarly, Fine Flour is now available at a rate of Rs990/10kg bag.
The commissioner's office further stated that no wholesaler or retailer is permitted to sell flour above the newly fixed prices.
The clarification comes in response to media reports about a price hike and aims to assure the public that flour prices are stable and have, in fact, decreased.
