JonBenét’s father, John Ramsey, recently revealed he received a letter from a woman claiming to know the identity of his daughter’s killer. Speaking to The Daily Mail, John explained that the letter followed the release of the Netflix documentary Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey, which explores investigative missteps and renews interest in the case.

The letter reportedly named the woman’s ex-husband as JonBenét’s killer, with the sender stating she had kept the information hidden for years. Despite John’s attempts to contact the woman, she has not responded, leading him to forward the information to a private investigator. While John acknowledges that solving the case may not change his life, he believes it is crucial for his children and grandchildren. "They deserve to have this cloud lifted," he said.

False leads have plagued the case over the years. John recalled an incident shortly after JonBenét’s death when a man claimed responsibility for her murder but demanded $3,000 for airline tickets to turn himself in. The claim was later debunked as a scam. These experiences have tempered John’s expectations but have not diminished his hope for justice.

JonBenét was found dead in the basement of her family’s Boulder, Colorado, home on December 26, 1996. Despite extensive investigations and public scrutiny, her killer remains unidentified. In 2008, the Boulder District Attorney officially cleared JonBenét’s parents of involvement. With the anniversary of her death approaching, advancements in forensic technology and renewed attention from media outlets like Netflix offer a glimmer of hope for resolution.
