Jay-Z has distanced himself from Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ legal troubles as allegations of sexual assault continue to surface. Jay-Z’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, clarified on Monday that the rapper has “nothing to do” with the accusations against Diddy.

“Mr. Carter has nothing to do with Mr. Combs' case,” Spiro stated at a press briefing at Roc Nation’s New York headquarters. “They knew each other professionally for a number of years,” he explained, dismissing speculation about any closer connection between the two music moguls.

The lawsuit, filed by Jane Doe on December 8, accuses Diddy of raping a 13-year-old girl at a house party following the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards. Jay-Z was later added to the case as an alleged participant, which he vehemently denies. Jay-Z has since demanded the dismissal of the lawsuit, calling it “false” and urging the accuser to be named publicly.

Spiro further highlighted inconsistencies in the accuser’s claims, labeling them as evidence of a fabricated story. “When something isn’t real, you’re going to get the details wrong because you weren’t really there,” Spiro emphasized, adding that inaccuracies in Doe’s account make the allegations implausible.

Both Jay-Z and Sean Combs have denied all accusations. Spiro criticized the legal process for allowing such claims to gain traction, stating, “It’s a mockery of the system.”

Diddy, meanwhile, awaits trial on May 5, 2025, for federal charges involving sex trafficking and other allegations. Jay-Z remains committed to clearing his name, emphasizing his lack of involvement in Combs’ ongoing legal battles.
