Sean Strickland has shared his thoughts on a resurfaced video of LeBron James praising Sean 'Diddy' Combs' well-known parties, amid the hip-hop mogul’s current legal troubles. The viral clip, originally from 2022, features LeBron James saying, “Ain't no party like a Diddy party,” while Diddy enthusiastically agreed.
The footage has reemerged at a particularly sensitive time, as Diddy faces sex trafficking charges and remains in custody at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center. Known for his outspoken and often controversial opinions, Strickland reacted to the video on X with a harsh comment.
He wrote: "Ain't no party like a diddy party" wait you're telling me a spineless f**k like @KingJames went to a diddy party?! I bet him and @machinegunkelly were puffs bottom bit*hes.."
On the professional side, Strickland recently claimed a split-decision win over Paulo Costa at UFC 302. This victory has paved the way for his highly anticipated middleweight championship rematch against Dricus du Plessis, set to take place on February 9, 2025, at UFC 312.
Ahead of their rematch, Dricus du Plessis has criticized Strickland’s fighting style, claiming it lacks excitement. The reigning middleweight champion argued that Strickland’s performances fail to entertain fans compared to his own more dynamic approach.
Speaking to Fox Sports Australia, du Plessis remarked: "Nothing's changed, he looked boring like every other fight, walking forward jabbing and teeping, it wasn't an exciting fight... It wasn't a bad performance, it was the most normal performance from him ever."
Reflecting on their previous fight, where du Plessis won via split decision at UFC 297, he shared his perspective on Strickland’s cautious approach.
"In our fight, I remember there was a stage in the fight where I was walking forward, but he just kept moving away and I thought to myself, 'I'm going to stand here, maybe he gets the confidence to walk forward and we can punch it out.' and he just dropped his hands a little and said, 'cool'. He has no problem with the crowd booing his fighting style."
du Plessis believes Strickland’s lack of aggression sets him apart from his own high-energy, forward-pressing style in the octagon.
