ATTOCK:

The primary suspect in a triple murder case was killed in a police encounter after escaping from custody on Monday.

According to the police, Muhammad Shahbaz alias Don, a resident of Khanda, was implicated in multiple serious crimes, including murder, robbery, and attempted murder. According to police, Shahbaz had fatally shot Hikmat Khan and his son Khadim Khan, residents of Chauntra village, killing three people, including the two victims.

The Bisal police station had registered a case of triple murder and began efforts to apprehend the culprits. Acting on a tip-off, police arrested Shahbaz and obtained his remand for further investigation. During interrogation, Shahbaz was being transported to the police station following the recovery of the murder weapon when his armed accomplices attacked the police team. The attackers opened fire, freeing Shahbaz and fleeing the scene.

In response, SHO Malik Muhammad Naeem of Bisal police station, along with additional personnel, tracked the suspects to the forest near Khanda Nurpur. The suspects engaged in another gunfire exchange with the police. When the firing ceased, Shahbaz was discovered critically injured, reportedly by the bullets of his accomplices. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene in a low-lying area of the forest.
