The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has dismissed its director general, Zulfiqar Ahmed, following an investigation that revealed his academic degrees were forged.
The decision came in light of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) launching the probe at NADRA's request, confirming discrepancies in Ahmed's credentials.
The investigation revealed that his MBA degree bore the signature of an individual who was not the president of George Mason University at the time of issuance.
Moreover, his BBA degree listed a college name that had been changed before the certificate was issued.
"The findings of the HEC corroborated the information provided by NADRA," a source familiar with the inquiry said.
The Islamabad High Court upheld the HEC's decision to cancel the equivalence of Zulfiqar Ahmed's degrees.
