Woman, minor girl allegedly raped

LAHORE:

Two incidents of rape, a gang rape and a rape of minor girl in front of her younger sister, were reported in the provincial capital on Thursday.

In the first incident, a woman was allegedly drugged, sexually assaulted and blackmailed for months by multiple individuals in Gulberg. The police claimed to have arrested two prime suspects, identified as Abdul Rehman and Shabbir, while efforts are underway to apprehend their accomplices.

The accused lured their neighbour, Rabia Bibi, to a private hotel under false pretences nearly five months ago. Once there, she was administered a sedative and sexually assaulted.

The suspects recorded videos of the assault, which they later used to blackmail her. Over time, other accomplices joined in and repeatedly assaulted her.

The incident came to light when the victim approached the police and filed a formal complaint. Following her statement, the Gulberg police registered a case and apprehended Abdul Rehman and Shabbir.

Raids are being conducted to locate and arrest the remaining culprits.

Police officials have assured that the investigation will be pursued with urgency and that all those involved will face strict legal action.

in the second incident, a 15-year-old female student has been raped by a rickshaw driver in Shalimar. The victim went to school with her younger sister.
