PM pledges progress for Balochistan's youth

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday emphasized that the development of Balochistan and the welfare of its residents remained top priorities of the government, adding that efforts were underway to create employment opportunities for the province's youth, enabling them to contribute to the nation's progress.

The premier made these remarks a meeting with Balochistan Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhel who called on him in the federal capital.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and PML-N Azad Jammu and Kashmir Shah Ghulam Qadir, PM Office Media Wing said in statement.

"The development of Balochistan province and the welfare of its residents are the government's top priorities," the premier said.

Every possible effort is being made to provide employment opportunities to the youth so that they can play a significant role in the country's development," he added.

During the meeting, matters related to Balochistan province were discussed.

The governor thanked the prime minister for taking special interest in the development projects of the province.

Qadir expressed gratitude to the prime minister for providing a Rs23 billion package to address the energy issues of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

The prime minister advised Qadir to continue his efforts so that the people of AJK could get maximum relief.

Earlier, the premier highlighted the nation's role as custodians of some of the world's most awe-inspiring mountains and reaffirmed the commitment to protecting their natural environment and preserving their beauty for future generations.

"Today, on International Mountain Day, we join the global community, in recognition of the significance of mountains to our home planet and to the millions of people whose lives are intrinsically intertwined with these majestic landscapes," the prime minister said in a message on the observance of the International Mountain Day, on December 11.
