Man held for staging robbery, faking injury

DIJKOT:

Nishatabad police have taken a man into custody for faking his injury during a robbery.

The suspect, Faisal Shahzad, claimed he was shot in the leg while resisting robbers who snatched Rs 20,000 in cash and a mobile phone from him on Burewala Road in the Nishatabad police station area. However, police investigations revealed that Faisal was not shot by robbers, but instead, he inflicted the injury on himself to stage a robbery.

Further investigations uncovered that Faisal is a history-sheeter in various cases. The police have taken him into custody and are investigating the matter.
