Senator Faisal Vawda recently stated that the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will not be released from prison, as it is now too late for that. He expressed hope that the legal matters concerning General Faiz Hameed and his associates would not escalate to the point of capital punishment, Express News reported.

Speaking to a private TV channel, Vawda commented that Faiz Hameed has already been formally charged and punishments are now being determined, adding that Hameed had provided critical evidence and information.

The case involving an assassination attempt on the PTI founder is of significant importance, Vawda stated. He recounted that the PTI founder had been warned before the assassination attempt that an attack on him was imminent.

According to Vawda, the beneficiaries of the attack on the PTI leader would soon be exposed, with key evidence provided by laptops, phones, and Hameed's facilitators.

He also hinted that another prominent figure, close to the PTI founder, was involved in the assassination attempt, and their identity would soon be revealed.

He revealed that another case, when revealed, would have serious implications for the PTI leader. He suggested that political negotiations would be crucial to resolving the situation.

Moreover, he alleged that JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s mandate in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa was stolen and that no one had addressed this grievance.

Vawda noted that it would be difficult to hold former army chief General Qamar Bajwa accountable due to the alliances formed with powerful individuals, making it a complex situation. He stressed that if the PM and the DG of ISI unite, even the Army Chief would find it challenging to intervene.

He also highlighted the significant role Gen Hameed had played in PTI’s operations, stating that the PTI founder had made substantial efforts to support him, even planning calls for Hameed on November 24.
