Security forces killed seven terrorists in two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in North Waziristan on Wednesday, the military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), reported on Wednesday.
According to a statement from ISPR, the first operation took place in the Miran Shah area, where forces acted on intelligence reports regarding the presence of ‘Khwarij’—a term used for foreign militants. The operation led to the killing of four terrorists.
In a second encounter in the Spinwam area, security forces neutralised three more terrorists. However, during the intense firefight, Lance Naik Muhammad Amin, aged 34 and a resident of Faisalabad, was martyred while fighting bravely.
The ISPR praised his courage, stating, "Lance Naik Muhammad Amin, having fought gallantly, embraced martyrdom." A sanitisation operation is currently underway in the region to clear any remaining terrorist presence.
The military reaffirmed its commitment to combating terrorism, with the ISPR statement adding, “Security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism, and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve.”
