Katie Holmes has dismissed rumors that her ex-husband, Tom Cruise, established a multi-million-dollar trust fund for their daughter, Suri Cruise.
On Sunday, Holmes took to Instagram to respond to a report by the UK’s Daily Mail, which alleged that Suri received a trust fund from Cruise, activated when she turned 18 in April, along with another from Holmes.
Over a screenshot of the article, the Dawson’s Creek star wrote, “Completely False,” adding, “Daily Mail, you can stop making stuff up.” She captioned the post with a firm “Enough.”
Holmes and Cruise, who married in 2006 and welcomed Suri the same year, separated in 2012. Since then, Cruise has reportedly been estranged from Suri, who is now 18. At her high school graduation earlier this year, Suri reportedly used the name "Suri Noelle," incorporating Holmes’ middle name, though it is unclear if she has legally changed her surname.
In a 2023 interview with Glamour, Holmes spoke about her efforts to shield her daughter from excessive public attention. “What has been really important for me with my daughter, because she was so visible at a young age, is I really like to protect her,” Holmes said.
She expressed gratitude for her role as a mother, stating, “I’m very grateful to be a parent, to be her parent. She’s an incredible person.”
Holmes has kept Suri’s life largely private since their high-profile split, continuing to prioritize her daughter's well-being and privacy amidst public scrutiny.
