20-paisa per unit hike in December power bills

ISLAMABAD:

The country's power regulator has approved distribution companies' (DISCOs) request for first quarterly adjustment of fiscal year 2024-25. After this approval, there will be a 20-paisa per unit hike in the December 2024 bills of all consumers of DISCOS and K-Electric.

DISCOs had submitted a request for quarterly adjustments to Nepra, which conducted a public hearing on the first quarterly adjustment for the fiscal year 2024-25 on November 20.

Previously, consumers were charged an average of Rs1.74 per unit under the fourth quarterly adjustment of fiscal year 2023-24, applicable until November 2024.
