Tobi Adegboyega, a prominent Nigerian pastor based in the UK, is not facing deportation, according to his lawyer, Dele Olawanle. This clarification comes after media reports suggested that Adegboyega, the leader of SPAC Nation, was at risk of being sent back to Nigeria due to alleged fraud involving £1.87 million at his church.

Olawanle quickly dismissed these claims, stressing that the issue at hand was an immigration matter, not a criminal case. He explained that deportation applies only to individuals convicted of crimes, and since Adegboyega has lived in the UK for over 20 years without a criminal conviction, he is not subject to deportation.

The allegations surrounding SPAC Nation, including suspicions of fraudulent activities and a lack of transparency, led to the church's closure by UK authorities. Despite this, Olawanle emphasized that no personal wrongdoing had been proven against Adegboyega. He also criticized the media for publishing misleading reports, calling them "ignorant."

Olawanle also highlighted Adegboyega's contributions to the UK community, underscoring that the pastor had been involved in various charitable efforts during his time in the country. The lawyer reiterated that Adegboyega had not been convicted of any crime and, therefore, was not in any legal trouble that would justify deportation.

Adegboyega's legal team continues to defend his position, asserting that the pastor remains in good standing with UK immigration laws, and the allegations against his church do not warrant deportation.
