Flavor Flav claims NBC kicked him out of Rockefeller Tree Lighting event, fans express outrage

Rap icon Flavor Flav speaks out after being escorted out of the prestigious Rockefeller Tree Lighting Ceremony.

Rap legend Flavor Flav was unexpectedly escorted out of the 2024 Rockefeller Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, leaving many fans baffled and upset by the incident. 

The iconic Flavor of Love star took to X (formerly Twitter) to explain what happened, revealing how he was removed from the event despite being invited.

"I feel weird,,, I was invited to the Rockefeller Tree Lighting tonite and I was escorted to see my boys,,, THE BACKSTREET BOYS,,, and we were backstage in their dressing room,,, security came up to me and says @nbc," Flavor Flav wrote in a candid post. 

"Does not want me in this area and I need to leave. At the same time,,, their social media woman came up and asked to capture social content. What did I ever do to NBC or anyone,,?? all I ever do is try to spread joy and love,,, and I think I did that for NBC at the Olympics."

The public outcry has been overwhelming, with many of Flavor Flav's supporters expressing disbelief over his removal. 

One user commented, "That is not cool @nbc. I’m sorry they didn’t treat you respectfully @FlavorFlav sounds like they need to get their communications organized." 

Another added, "It sounds like someone screwed up. You're definitely joy and love!" A third user firmly stated, "@nbc should be ashamed of themselves!!!!"

The ceremony, which was broadcast on NBC, featured performances from the Backstreet Boys, Jennifer Hudson, and others. 

Despite the controversy, the event continued with the tree being lit and featuring over 50,000 multicolored LED bulbs and a dazzling Swarovski star adorned with 3 million crystals.

Flavor Flav's removal from the event has sparked a wave of online support, with fans standing firmly in his corner, questioning the decision and showing solidarity with the rap legend.
