YouTube sensation MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, has once again announced his intention to run for President of the United States — but with a strategic plan in mind.
During an appearance on comedian Theo Von’s podcast, This Past Weekend, MrBeast discussed his presidential aspirations and the long-term path he intends to take.
Although the YouTuber is only 26 years old, MrBeast has big plans for the future, which includes stepping into politics once he's achieved his business goals. He told Von that he would likely pursue a presidential run when he is in his 50s or 60s, after gaining experience at local and state levels. “It would probably be when I'm like 50 or 60 because I would need to accomplish everything I want in business… do something at the local level… work my way up,” he shared.
MrBeast's comments come after he first teased the idea of running for president back in July, when he stated he would jump into the race if the minimum age for presidency was lowered. The YouTuber took to X (formerly Twitter), saying, “If we lower the age to run for president, I’ll jump in the race,” which quickly went viral. At the time, he added that his focus would be on running the world’s largest economy if elected.
While MrBeast admitted during the podcast that his initial presidential statement was partly made for attention, he doubled down on his commitment to the idea, acknowledging that if he pursued it later in life, he would likely have the support of his massive online fan base. Fans on X have voiced their backing, with many noting that his philanthropic efforts, like donating millions to charity and funding global initiatives, could make him a strong candidate.
As MrBeast's brand grows — with projects like Feastables and Beast Games — his influence continues to expand. For now, however, the YouTuber is focused on launching his latest venture, Beast Games, on Amazon Prime on December 19, which has already earned him 28 Guinness World Records.
